Documents for Watershed Advisory Group Review

As part of this project, and in an effort to better understand the water quality in the project area, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have collected metals, nutrient, sediment, and temperature data. Pollutant source assessment tools consist of water quality data analysis and water quality models, depending upon the pollutant. The following data and source assessment reports are available:

Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area:  Sediment and Habitat Assessment (4.1 MB)

A detailed sediment and habitat assessment of streams in the Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area (Project Area) was conducted to facilitate development of sediment TMDLs.

The goal of this assessment is to collect data to evaluate the existing condition of sediment impaired streams and to estimate the relative existing sediment load from eroding streambanks and the sediment load reductions that will occur with the application of all appropriate riparian best management practices (BMPs).

Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area:  Road Assessment & Modeling (2.7 MB)

An assessment of the road network within the Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area (Project Area) was performed as part of the development of sediment TMDLs for 303(d) listed stream segments with sediment as a documented impairment. This assessment employed GIS, field data collection, and sediment modeling to assess sediment inputs from the unpaved road network.

Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area:  Assessment of Upland Sediment Sources for TMDL Development (2.2 MB)

An assessment of the sediment loading from hillslope erosion within the Central Clark Fork Tributaries TMDL Project Area (Project Area) was performed to facilitate the development of sediment TMDLs for 303(d) listed stream segments with sediment as a documented impairment.
